Erik Saar, Ph.D. is the owner of Jasfin Consulting. He is an expert in leadership, motivation and organizational culture. Dr. Saar has worked with government and commercial clients to conduct research, facilitate training and provide customized solutions. Erik helps organizations improve performance by creating connected cultures and leaders. Erik's interest in human motivation and organizational culture peaked during his time working in intelligence and counterterrorism. He worked in roles that required he develop an understanding of how and why terrorist groups like Al Qaeda were able to recruit new members. As he studied the motivations and organizational dynamics of terrorist groups, he came to realize that these groups take advantage of universal principles that apply to all organizations. Erik has developed a keynote speech about his findings titled: The ConneX Factor: How to Transform Your Organization through the Power of Connection. Erik is a veteran of the United States Army and has a B.S. in Marketing from King's College. In the Army he served as an Intelligence Analyst and Arabic Linguist. Erik earned his Master's degree from George Mason University and has completed his Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at Alvernia University in Reading, Pa. In addition to his role at Jasfin Consulting, Erik is an instructor in the Business and Organizational Leadership program at Penn State University and he is an adjunct instructor at the American Military University School of Global Security Studies.
